Getting started
Verify access, finish onboarding, and protect the first catalog resources.
1. Open Catalog Armor in Shopify Admin
Install the app from the authorized Shopify surface and approve the permissions Shopify displays. Catalog Armor opens as an embedded app and uses Shopify session tokens for authenticated requests.
2. Review the welcome checklist
The welcome flow checks the connection to Shopify and introduces the core workspaces:
- Alerts for active and acknowledged conditions.
- Monitoring for rules across supported resource types.
- Backups for product and collection protection.
- Health for access, event delivery, and worker status.
3. Check Health before protecting data
Open Health and confirm that required catalog access, event delivery, and protection workers report healthy. Resolve access problems before relying on monitoring or backup history.
4. Protect a small representative set
Start with one product and one collection that are safe to inspect. Create the protection policy, allow the first snapshot to complete, and confirm that history appears before expanding coverage.
5. Add a focused monitoring rule
Choose one condition with a clear merchant response, such as a missing required field or an inventory threshold. Keep each rule focused so its alert identifies one actionable issue.
Use a development store first
Test the full alert and recovery workflow with representative data before relying on Catalog Armor for a production catalog.
