Monitoring rules

Build focused conditions for products, collections, discounts, locations, and recent orders.

Supported resource types

Catalog Armor can evaluate rules for:

  • Products and related variant, inventory, collection-membership, and metafield facts.
  • Collections and supported collection fields.
  • Discounts.
  • Locations.
  • Recent order and fulfillment operational facts.

The fields available in the rule builder depend on the selected resource type and the access currently granted by Shopify.

Keep rules actionable

Each rule should describe one condition and one expected merchant response. For example, create separate rules for a missing required metafield and low inventory rather than combining unrelated risks into one alert.

Expressions and groups

Use all groups when every child condition must match and any groups when one matching child is enough. Preview the plain-language summary before saving.

Starter patterns

Useful first rules include:

  • An active product missing a required field.
  • Inventory below a merchant-defined threshold.
  • A collection outside an expected state.
  • A discount with an unexpected status or value.
  • A recent order or fulfillment condition requiring review.

Monitoring is not customer profiling

Catalog Armor evaluates merchant-defined operational conditions. It does not request protected customer name, postal address, phone, or email fields.
